Do Good Minds is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to closing Maryland’s behavioral health workforce gap by building a pipeline of motivated, diverse, and well-supported professionals. Grounded in the recommendations of the 2024 Maryland Behavioral Health Workforce Assessment, our pilot program will combine career awareness campaigns, scholarships and licensing navigation for trainees, and peer resilience networks to tackle the three biggest barriers to workforce growth: lack of awareness, financial hurdles, and burnout. In Year One, we will reach 500 young people and career-changers with behavioral health career pathways, support 25 participants with training stipends and mentorship, and create an innovative peer network that sustains retention. With support from the Do Good Accelerator, we will prove that investing in Maryland’s future workforce now can save lives, strengthen communities, and model scalable solutions for statewide adoption.
