Alan is Co-Founder/President of E-Line Media, a developer and publisher of social impact video games, including the BAFTA and Peabody award-winning Never Alone, Jackson-Wild winning Beyond Blue, Gamestar Mechanic, and MinecraftEdu. Alan has worked on impact game projects with the Ford, Gates,s and MacArthur Foundations, NSF, USAID, DARPA, White House OSTP, Google, Sesame Workshop, MIT, ASU, and many other impact, public interest, and educational organizations.
Before E-Line, Alan was a key member of the executive team that rebuilt Activision from bankruptcy into an industry leader, overseeing titles including Civilization: Call to Power, Muppet Treasure Island, Spycraft, Pitfall, Zork, and Tony Hawk Skateboarding. He is a former Chairman of Games for Change and co-author of Designing Reality: How to Survive and Thrive in the 3rd Digital Revolution.
A respected thought leader, Alan has spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos and has been published in Scientific American, Politico, Slate, Education Week, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Huffington Post. He serves on the Board of Impact Guild and Advisory Boards of FilmAid International, Breakthrough T1D, and Materiom. He is also a co-founder of Endless Studios and Experimental Design. Alan is the first recipient of the Games for Change Lifetime Achievement Award.
