Martha Wang, Ph.D. is the Assistant Director of the Fischell Institute for Biomedical Devices

University of Maryland College Park and the faculty mentor of the MPowering the State Student Entrepreneurship program; where fellows are developing and commercializing medical devices. Concurrently, Dr. Wang teaches in the Fischell Department of Bioengineering focusing on biomaterials and commercializing medical devices. Her work focuses on developing the medtech ecosystem by connecting researchers, industrial partners and developing educational opportunities for students to pursue careers in biotech. Dr. Wang is passionate about the power of community, and the role it plays in innovation - particularly in the medtech ecosystem. This passion led Dr. Wang to start Maryland MedTech Week along with the MD Dept of Commerce and other key partners to bring provide an annual event to bring the medtech community together.
